Play Opportunities

For Dorset families with a disabled child/ren aged from 0 -19 years and their siblings.  An opportunity to go out and about together as a family,  meet others in a similar situation and with the confidence of knowing they are fully supported.

We offer a varied programme of sessions every weekday of the school holidays at different venues ranging from play and leisure centres, to local attractions and special schools, as well as at our own premises, The Families Centre, Bond Avenue, West Moors BH22 0LL.  Our facilities here include ball pond, toys, sensory room, fully accessible toilet, resource/ information room and book and toy library. Our Playworkers, The CHAOS Crew, support the children allowing parents to sit back and take a break.

Parents/carers must be present at all sessions.

Registration, Booking, Payment & Charges ......

REGISTRATION:  You can register at any time, please click on the Downloads page and complete the forms under the heading 'Registration Pack' and return them to the office.  Further details of what happens next are included in the Welcome Letter and What's On Flyer.

MAILING - TIMETABLE/BOOKING REQUEST: Please read all the instructions and notes on the reverse of the timetable carefully. Complete and return the enclosed Booking Request Form to the office by the date shown. Please note demand can be high for certain activities and we cannot guarantee to offer you everything you want.  

CONFIRMATION/WAITLIST & PAYMENT: The outcome of your booking request will be confirmed by post or email ( as per your instructions) and you will be asked to send in payment for confirmed places by a set date.  If we do not receive your payment by that date, we may offer your places to someone else on the waiting list. If you have not secured a place you will be automatically placed on the waiting list. The confirmation will tell you either way.

CANCELLATIONS:   Please contact the office on 01202 855105 during term time and 07785 622093 during the holidays as soon as possible.  We regret we cannot issue refunds once places have been paid for.

from 1st April 2013 :-

Child with additional needs - £4.00 each

Sibling - £2 each

NEW! Saturday Club Drop In  - no charge and no need to book.

Held once a fortnight on a Saturday between 10am - 2pm at The Families Centre West Moors BH22 0LL.

Refreshments, toys and sensory room available. Contribution towards tea/coffee please.

There will be no Crew at these sessions and parents must be responsible for their children at all times.
