Parent Support
Coping with CHAOS is a parent-led organisation, all of the office staff, and many of our play workers and volunteers are either the parents of, or siblings of children with a disability or additional need. As such, we are well aware of the joys and challenges that this can present, and we aim to offer support to parents through the difficult times as well as celebrating the achievements of our children.
What We Can Offer
Coffee Morning/Drop In for parents & carers.
Held at The Families Centre, Bond Avenue, West Moors BH22 0LL between 10am and 12pm, 1st Monday of the month during term time. Refreshments, chat and information, access to Toy Library, Resource Room, ball pond, toys and Sensory Room, fully accessible toilet.
Dates for 2013, Feb 4th, March 4th, April 29th, June 3rd, July 1st.
Toy/Book Library
Our toy and book library is available to parents registered with CHOAS. There is an annual joining fee of £5 and then a small charge for each individual toy or book borrowed from 50p to £1.50 depending on the value of the item. Monies raised will be used to buy new toys/books and replace damaged or unreturned stock as well as bringing in a small extra income for CHAOS.The toy/book library will be available at our monthly coffee mornings, but parents are welcome to drop in at any time to borrow, subject to the office being open.Please call before making a special trip to ensure that there is someone available to help you.
We would be very grateful for donations of unwanted toys or books which are in good condition and suitable for lending to others.

Information/signposting
As a community of parents we have a lot of accumulated experience, which we are happy to share, what we will not do is give advice or try to influence a parent's decision..If you have a query, please feel free to give the office a call on 01202 855105. If we do not know the answer we will try to pass you on to someone who does.
Resource Room
Our resource room is available to parents during office hours. It houses our toy/book library as well as lots of other information from advocacy to youth clubs.Parents are free to drop in and browse. A photocopying service is available at 5p per sheet.
CHAOS Juniors for Rising 5's
Join us at the CHAOS Families Centre on the 3rd Thursday of the month during term time between 10.30 - 11.30am. Open to any pre-school child with a disability or additional need and their parent/carer. Pre-school siblings also welcome. Sensory room, ball pond, toy library, signposting and information available. £1 to cover refreshments. Please contact Chris on 01202 855105 for more details.
